Opal Parsian Sangan Co., a subsidiary of Parsian Investment Holding Company was established in 2014 aiming to develop, manage, and invest in the iron ore pellets and concentrate factories in collaboration with Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation (aka IMIDRO) in Sangan Special Economic Zone located at the south of Razavi Khorasan province, known as the iron ore capital of Iran.
Opal Parsian Sangan Co.'s primary mission is the optimal processing of iron ore to maximize the production of iron ore pellets and concentrate according to the needs of downstream industries in the steel production cycle and supporting the sustained development of the economic zone.
The company’s products include iron ore pellets and concentrate. The iron ore concentrate production factory of Opal Parsian Sangan Co. began its operation as the first iron ore concentration factory in the Razavi Khorasan province with a 2.6 million tons production capacity and set a national record in 2019 by producing more than 3 million tons of iron ore concentrate, which was higher than the nominal production capacity of the factory.
In addition to operating the iron ore concentrate production factory with an annual production capacity of 2.6 million tons, in 2015, Opal Parsian Sangan Co. began designing, building, and equipping a new pellet production factory with a nominal production capacity of 5 million tons per, funded entirely by the company year. The development was finished in 2019, and the plant was commissioned in the same year. The company is currently building a second iron ore concentrate production factory with a production capacity of 2.4 million tons per year, aiming to increase the annual iron ore concentrate production to 5 million tons to supply the input feed for the pellet production line.
The customer base of the Opal Parison Sangan Co. encompasses steel manufacturing companies all over the country and the world, including the Mobarakeh Steel Company, Khouzestan Steel Company, Sabzevar Pars Steel Complex, Khorasan Steel Company, and all the domestic and foreign companies producing Direct Reduced Iron and other steel products.
