Introducing Opal Parsian Sangan Company
Opal Parsian Sangan Company, as a subsidiary of Parsian Investment Holding Company under the supervision of Parsian Bank, has played a crucial role in the country's steel industry development since 2015.
In line with privatization policies and to strengthen production infrastructure, the company purchased 60% of Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) shares to operate and develop a 2.6 million-ton concentrate plant in the Sangan iron ore complex.
In May 2016, the company began construction of a 5-million-ton pellet manufacturing factory and put it into operation in 2019. The company’s project to build a concentrating plant with a capacity of 2.4 million tons is also being completed with 65% physical progress.
In 2024, by utilizing the latest technical knowledge, the efforts and capabilities of the domestic workforce and specialists, and exploiting the nation’s technical and engineering potentials, the production capacity of this factory was upgraded to 3.1 million tons. This increase in the production capacity has facilitated the supply of raw materials to the country’s steel chain and has played an important role in the sustainable development of this industry.
In December 2024, following the Supreme Leader’s emphasis on the country’s macroeconomic policies and the withdrawal of banks from buying enterprises, Opal Parsian Sangan Company, along with Opal Kani Pars and Sabzevar Pars Steel Company, was assigned to the nation’s major specialized mining and steel companies under a consortium called Kani Sazan Kimia Mining Industries Holding. This assignment was made with a 55% participation from Mobarakeh Steel Company of Isfahan and a 45% participation from Kaveh Pars Mining Industries Holding (a subsidiary of the Mostazafan Foundation of the Islamic Revolution).
The first rail car loading of pellet products in the Sangan mining area by Opal Parsian Sangan Company was conducted in February 2018 automatically and with minimal environmental pollution in the Sangan Iron Ore Complex railway station area. In this operation, the pellet product was transported by freight train to Khorasan Steel Company. The rail transportation department of the Opal Parsian Sangan Company has a loading line that can load an average of 25 freight cars per hour.
The customer base of the Opal Parison Sangan Co. encompasses steel manufacturing companies all over the country and the world, including the Mobarakeh Steel Company, Khouzestan Steel Company, Sabzevar Pars Steel Complex, Khorasan Steel Company, and all the domestic and foreign companies producing Direct Reduced Iron and other steel products.
